The technology group ABB is installing fast-charging stations for electric trucks at several locations of the Swedish recycler Ragn-Sells. The Terra HP columns are also accessible to the public.

According to ABB, the first 10 of the 18 planned charging stations are already in operation: four Terra HPs are connected to the network at Ragn-Sells in Gothenburg, with a further six units in Ale. The eight charging stations for trucks still to be installed will follow shortly at the company’s premises in Högbytorp. The recycler wants to use the charging parks to electrify its heavy goods transport operations. The chargers are also approved for use by third parties.

This approach is also why Ragn-Sells is receiving 45 million Swedish kronor (around 4 million euros) in subsidies from the Swedish Energy Agency for installing the chargers. “We chose ABB E-mobility because of their expertise in building and supporting charging infrastructure and that knowledge is critical for establishing long-term, sustainable return on investment for these sites. That experience is something we valued and relied on during this project and at every step along our electrification journey in what is a fast-moving period,” said Erik Wastesson, project manager at Ragn-Sells Treatment & Detox AB.

ABB claims to have sold 50,000 high-power chargers and electrified more than 10,000 sites worldwide with around 1,400 employees.
