The Belgium-based charging solutions provider MobilityPlus has received 40 million euros in a financing round. The company intends to use the fresh capital to drive forward its expansion in Belgium and France.

The financing round was led by Suma Capital. The existing investor Concentra also participated. The exact amounts with which the investors participated and the changed ownership structure are not disclosed. It is therefore unclear exactly how much Suma Capital has invested and what share of the company the investor now holds.

Founded in 2016, MobilityPlus currently manages over 15,000 charging points in Belgium and France and has access to a further 550,000 charging stations throughout Europe via roaming agreements. With its ‘eXperience platform’, MobilityPlus focuses on charging solutions for B2B customers: primarily companies that want to offer their employees and customers charging options.

In addition to expanding the business model in Belgium and France, the funds from the financing round will also be used to improve MobilityPlus’ Charging-as-a-Service (CaaS) model. The CaaS model allows companies to deploy charging solutions without any upfront costs. In this case, MobilityPlus covers the one-off installation costs, but recoups these via the ongoing fees.
