InstaVolt & Plugsurfing announce charging partnership
Britsh charging point operator InstaVolt announced a collaboration with charging network Plugsurfing. The partnership between to the two EV charging companies will add 1,400 InstaVolt charge points in the UK to Plugsurfing’s existing network of nearly 30,000 charge points in the UK and over 600,000 in Europe.
As well as significantly expanding Plugsurfing’s existing network of nearly 30,000 charge points in the UK and over 600,000 in Europe by another 1,400 charging points, the partnership aims to provide drivers with a “seamless digital experience for charging and driving,” by setting up “one of the widest EV charging networks in the UK.”
Plugsurfing states that its existing customers can now order their own personal charging card or key, which will allow them to pay at any partner charging station in Europe.
“At our core, we want to help make EV charging easy and carefree for drivers. Now that our drivers have access to one of the largest public charging networks in the UK, they can easily plan their journeys and pay for charging,” said Tom Rowlands, CEO at Plugsurfing. Adrian Keen, CEO of InstaVolt added: “We’re hopeful that apps like Plugsurfing will further instill confidence in drivers who are considering the switch to EVs and encourage collaboration between different industry players. The future success of the UK’s charging infrastructure is reliant on industry collaboration of this kind, and we look forward to supporting Plugsurfing as it further enhances its reach.”
