Polestar partners with Ohme for EV charging in Ireland

Polestar, the renowned electric vehicle (EV) brand, has announced that it has chosen Ohme as its recommended smart charger partner for the Irish market.

Headquartered in Cork and London, Ohme is a prominent smart charging company that offers cutting-edge technology. Their smart chargers come equipped with software that enables drivers to take advantage of off-peak tariffs, leading to cost-effective charging.

A comparative analysis reveals the financial benefits of using an Ohme smart charger, the company claims. For example, charging a Polestar 2 Long range Single motor, which has a 78kWh battery, with an Ohme charger during off-peak hours would cost approximately €216.60 per year for 10,000kms. In contrast, using a Standard Tariff would incur a cost of around €700.15 for the same distance.

Notably, Ohme has received recognition and acclaim for its contributions to the industry. It was awarded “Fast Track Company of the Year” at the 2023 Green Business Awards and named “Best Electric Charging Point Provider” by Business Motoring.
