Doubled in a year

Number of charging stations in Flanders increases rapidly

The number of public charging stations is growing rapidly in Flanders, Belgium. This year, 9,000 public charging stations have already been installed. And there are now three times more fast chargers than a year ago.

At the end of June, electric vehicles in Flanders could go to 753 charging points of at least 150 kilowatts.A year earlier there were 288, almost three times less. This is evident from figures from the Dutch charging data company Eco Movement.

According to the same figures, the total number of public charging stations also continues to increase.Flanders now has 29,111, which is twice as many as a year ago. There are now a total of 37,000 charging stations in Belgium. The increase is desperately needed because the number of electric cars is increasing visibly in Belgium. In February, the milestone of 100,000 electrically powered cars was taken, by the end of this year that number will already double.
