Fastned has signed a second contract for the supply of solar power to charging stations in the Netherlands, this time with the future Ecorus solar park in Den Helder.

The electricity will be purchased via Scholt Energy for a fixed price, which supports the policy of using stable prices at the stations. The new agreement has a term of 15 years. The agreement doubles the amount of power supplied directly to Fastned from solar parks. An eight-year agreement was previously concluded with a solar park in Zevenaar.

Ecorus wants to start the construction of the solar park in Den Helder in the fourth quarter and the first solar energy is expected at the beginning of 2025. The Ecorus solar park in Den Helder will supply approximately 22 Gigawatt hours of solar energy annually, more than a quarter of Fastned’s total consumption in the Netherlands in 2023. This agreement therefore makes a significant contribution to the reduction of CO2 emissions.
